Local Artists Receive Recognition at State Show

“All Trails Lead to Art” was the theme for the Association of Nebraska Art Club's 61st annual Exhibition and Conference held in Ogallala. The Sand Painters Art Club was well-represented with 18 pieces in the exhibition of nearly 300 pieces.

Alpha Delta is Offering Scholarships

The Alpha Delta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, a teacher honorary, is offering scholarships to local students who have chosen to pursue a career in education. Interested students with at least 60 college credit hours may apply.

Libby Wilkins Named to UNL Dean's Commendation List

Libby Wilkins of Ainsworth has been named to the Deans' Commendation List at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for the spring semester of the 202526 academic year. Wilkins, a senior majoring in agricultural leadership, education and communication, was named to the Dean's Commendation List for the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.

What We Think About Matters to God

Are we ashamed of God? Is God ashamed of us? Do we not realize that God knows our thoughts? Yes, the spiritual atmosphere within society has changed in the last 75 years, and one of the reasons is the older generations who stood fervently for God have passed on, and many of the younger ones do not have the same passion for Christ. Do we care about developing an awareness of His presence? Look at the technology that has evolved in this period of time, and it’s easy to see the minds and hearts of the masses have allowed themselves to be tempted to adopt a different way of thinking and believing. A tsunami of knowledge has been released upon the world, and with more information, we have more distractions. There was a time when families would gather in the evenings and read and discuss the Bible and pray together. What happened?
