One Act Cast Performs at Ainsworth Play Festival

Ainsworth High School’s One-Act team kicked off its competitive season at the Ainsworth Play Festival on Saturday, November 15. The cast performed a 30-minute production titled ‘How to Get Away with a Murder Mystery’, earning a strong runner-up finish.

Michael Clay Receives NHA Caring Kind Award

Rock County Hospital and Long Term Care are proud to recognize Michael Clay, the 2025 recipient of the Nebraska Hospital Association Caring Kind award. This award is given at the NHA annual conference and recognized Clay with the following nomination: Michael works as an LPN and charge nurse in our long-term care.

Ainsworth Author Wins 2025 Book Award

On Saturday, November 15, in the Heritage Room on the UNL campus in Lincoln, Bob Ross received the 2025 Poetry Honor award from the Nebraska Center for the Book for his book of poems, “Those We Can No Longer See.”

Game and Parks Schedule Big Game Meetings Across State

Hunters and landowners are encouraged to offer their feedback on big game information during the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s public meetings in December and January. These 2.5-hour meetings are scheduled in each Game and Parks district.

As I write this today, the fall harvest is well underway. Early this spring the picture was looking rather bleak, but we received bountiful rains through the summer and were blessed with good crops once again. It’s hard to calculate the overall impact these timely rains brought to our area. The bottom line is that we have a great deal for which to offer thanks to our gracious and generous God.

Appreciating and Honoring our Nation’s Veterans

Most people assume the special day is spelled “Veteran’s Day”; however, the day does not belong to veterans, but honors all veterans, so no apostrophe is needed. Also, Veterans Day is not the same as Memorial Day, as this day of honor is a time to remember those who literally gave their lives for our country, particularly in combat or from wounds sustained in battle.

November 9th A traffic stop was made west of Ainsworth on Highway 20. The driver was given a written warning for driving left of center.
