The girls wrestling season will begin on December 5 at the West Holt Quadrangular in Atkinson. This season, the team will not coop with the North Central lady wrestlers.

Area athletes were recently named to the Niobrara Valley Conference All-Conference Team. The Ainsworth Bulldog basketball team fell in their annual Jamboree game against Neligh-Oakdale. The Warriors hit two free throws to break the tie with 9 seconds left in the final quarter.

Ainsworth High School’s One-Act team continued its competitive season on Tuesday, November 18, at the Niobrara Valley Conference competition in Butte. The Bulldogs exceeded the event’s allotted 30 minute time limit, resulting in a less favorable outcome than hoped.

The Bulldogs played in their annual Jamboree game. The team beat Neligh-Oakdale in a game that will not go on their record.

Nebraska Extension will host an irrigation meeting in collaboration with Nebraska Master Irrigator on December 5 at the West Central Research, Extension and Education Center in North Platte. The meeting will explore water conservation in irrigated cropping systems and the potential for achieving success with less than 12 inches of irrigation.

Members of the Ainsworth and North Central Football Teams were named to the Class D2 District 7 All-District Team. The Ainsworth Volleyball team finished its season with a record of 10-20. Head Coach Jeri Graff said the season was a roller coaster, starting out with injuries and sickness, which hurt the team’s confidence.
