AHS Sports to Start This Week

Middle School Wrestling and Girls Basketball have been going on since early November. Varsity sports start this week! The Ainsworth Boys and Girls Basketball teams take to the court on Friday, December 3rd with a trip to Ord and then travel to Gordon-Rushville on Saturday, December 4th.

Boys Wrestling Returning Three Letter Winners for 2021-2022 Season

The Ainsworth High School Boys Wrestling team has started practicing for a competitive season ahead of them. Under the direction of head coach Todd Pollock, the young team will have the benefit of experienced coaching staff to teach them on their journey throughout the season.

Kaitlyn Nelson Signs on to Play Volleyball at NECC

Bulldog athlete Kaitlyn Nelson, a senior at AHS, signed on to play volleyball for the Northeast Community College Hawks on November 23rd for the 2022 fall season. Nelson will graduate from AHS in May 2022. Nelson will attend the Northeast Community College campus in Norfolk, NE.

Two AHS Wrestlers Gear Up for First Season of NSAA-Sanctioned Girls Wrestling

With Ainsworth hosting its first year of NSAA-sanctioned girls wrestling, the Bulldogs are ready for the fierce competition to begin. Under coaches Todd Pollock and Blaine Finney, the Ainsworth Bulldogs have two wrestlers competing for the 2021-2022 season in girls wrestling.

2021 SWC Volleyball Teams Selected

Three Ainsworth Bulldog Volleyball athletes were selected for the 2021 Southwest Conference Volleyball Teams. The Southwest Coach of the Year was Bryson Mahlberg of Gothenburg.

The Lady Bulldogs Return Strong Leadership for 2021-22 Basketball Season

“We have a strong team of leaders that have played together for many years. They work hard and are determined to be successful,” Coach Julie Micheel remarked about the upcoming Bulldogs girls basketball team. With hard weeks of conditioning and practice, the team geared up for their first game, the Jamboree in West Holt on November 23rd.

Holdrege Accepted to Southwest Conference

The Southwest Conference voted unanimously on Wednesday, November 17th to accept Holdrege Public Schools as the ninth member of the conference. The addition will go into effect for the 2022-2023 school year.
