Game and Parks After Two Incidents: Use Caution on Ice

Nebraska Game and Parks reminds people to use caution and test the ice when going onto frozen lakes or ponds after conservation officers responded to two incidents on January 11th in western Nebraska.

Spring Turkey Permits Available Now

Hunters are now able to purchase 2025 spring turkey season permits from the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. Hunters are reminded they may harvest no more than one turkey per calendar day during the spring season.

Lady Bulldogs Drop Game to St. Mary’s 37-63

The Lady Bulldogs could not break their rough patch on Friday, January 10th against O’Neill St. Mary’s Lady Cardinals. This game marked the fourth straight loss for the Lady Bulldogs. This loss drops their season record to 2-9.

Ainsworth Girls Wrestling Team Places 5th at Winside Invite

The Ainsworth Girls Wrestling team competed at the Winside Girls wrestling invite on January 11th. As a team, Ainsworth placed 5th, The team had two individual invite champions, Jolyn Pozehl and Paisley Hoffman.

Pediatric Influenza Death in NCDHD District

So far, during the 2024-2025 flu season, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has reported three pediatric deaths attributed to influenza. Tragically, one of these deaths occurred within the North Central District Health Department (NCDHD) service area.

The Ainsworth Boys and Girls Basketball Teams will host St. Mary’s on Friday, December 10th at McAndrew Gymnasium.

UNK Announces Dean’s List for 2024 Fall Semester

The University of Nebraska at Kearney announced students who earned a place on the dean’s list for the fall 2024 semester. Students who are on the dean’s list must have completed 12 credit hours or more of classes with a 3.5 grade-point average or better on a 4.0 scale.
