The Ainsworth Wrestling Team competed in the 2023 Southwest Conference Wrestling Tournament on February 2nd in Broken Bow. Mason Painter and Kaden Evans each placed second in JV action.

Jolyn Pozehl Crowned District Champ at 115 Lbs. The Ainsworth Girls Wrestling Team competed in District competition on February 3rd and 4th in Bridgeport, NE.

Come join park rangers from Niobrara National Scenic River at Hudson Lake, Saturday February 4th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for a Junior Angler Ice Fishing Clinic. Registration for children under 12 is required as they will receive a free ice fishing pole thanks to Friends of the Niobrara River and the National Park Foundation. Kristi Noem has yet to make herself available to the Capitol press during the first three weeks of the state’s legislative session, breaking with a decades-old ritual of South Dakota governors holding a weekly news conference to publicly discuss their policy initiatives and take questions from reporters.

The Ainsworth Girls Wrestling Team traveled to Amherst for the Amherst Girls Invite on Saturday, January 28th. The team placed 9th out of 20 teams with 36 points.

The Ainsworth Wrestling Team hosted a quad-dual with Todd County, Twin Loup and North Central on Friday, January 27th. The duals were to be a prelude to the Ainsworth Invitational Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, January 28th, but the tournament was cancelled due to a winter storm coming into the area.

On Wednesday, January 11th, Ainsworth Community Schools hosted District 10 FFA LDEs. Over 500 students from across the region were welcomed to compete in a variety of speaking events.

The Ainsworth Boys Basketball Team had a tough, busy week with three games. The Dawgs traveled to Cozad on Monday, January 16th for a make up game with the Cozad Haymakers and came away with a 48-76 loss.

The Ainsworth Girls Wrestling Team competed in the Battle Creek Invitational on January 16th. The Ainsworth Girls took 11th place at the wrestling invitational.
