As the regular season play for high school volleyball comes to an end, Ainsworth Lady Bulldogs ended that portion of play with a winning season, 17-15. This past week the Bulldogs hosted South Loup at Lila McAndrew, loosing in 4 sets, 25-14, 20-25, 18-25 and 18-25.

The Ainsworth Ladies’ Cross Country Team finished the 2022 season on the medal stands at the Kearney Country Club at the NSAA State Cross Country Championships on October 21st. In a tight team race that was separated by just mere points, the Bulldogs came away with their sixth trophy in the last seven trips as they collected the 2022 Class D Runner-Up hardware.

The Ainsworth Bulldogs hosted the Loomis Wolves in the first round Class D2 Football Playoffs on Thursday, October 20th and sent the Wolves home with a 64-20 loss. Ainsworth was seeded #3 in the west bracket of the two 16-team brackets and showed why they were the higher seeded team.

The Ainsworth Lady Dawgs had a busy week playing in the Broken Bow Dual on Tuesday, October 11th; hosting a dual in Ainsworth on Thursday, October 13th; and playing in the Valentine Tournament on Saturday, October 15th.

The Ainsworth Bulldogs played their last regular season game in Spencer, NE on Friday, October 14th against the Boyd County Spartans. The undefeated Bulldogs were looking for a win and end regular season play with an 8-0 record.

The Ainsworth Cross Country teams concluded their season with the Middle School State Cross Country Championships hosted by Papillion La Vista South on Saturday, October 8th. The all-class format was hosted jointly on the campus of Papillion La Vista South High School and the adjacent Walnut Creek Recreation Area.

Numerous high school and junior high school bands marched through downtown Wayne in the Homecoming Parade and up to Willow Bowl on the Wayne State College campus. Ainsworth Junior-Senior Marching Band was one of the bands participating in this parade on Saturday, October 8th.

Ainsworth youth volleyball and football started their season in early September this year. The 3rd-6th volleyball teams have competed in games in Ainsworth and Bassett so far.

The Ainsworth Bulldogs continue to add to their winning streak keeping their winning season going. This past week they participated in the North Central Triangular in Springview where they played against the Stuart Broncos and the North Central Knights.
