The Ainsworth Area Chamber of Commerce met on Monday, March 1st. Board members present included President Karen O’Hare, Vice President Brenna Duester, Treasurer Hunter Martin, Secretary Katie Leymaster, Danielle Witte Dan Brockman and Anissa Julius.
The Ainsworth Mock Trial team won two of its three matches last week to bring home fifth place in the Nebraska State Mock Trial Championships. A statewide event featuring 12 regional qualifiers, the Nebraska Mock Trial State Championships were contested virtually this year due to the pandemic.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued its first set of recommendations on activities that people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can safely resume. The new guidance—which is based on the latest science — includes recommendations for how and when a fully vaccinated individual can visit with other people who are fully vaccinated and with other people who are not vaccinated.
After a recent discovery of invasive zebra mussels within Marimo or “moss” balls used in aquarium tanks, the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is urging the public to take precautions to prevent the spread of this highly destructive species.
