Local youth attains level of Eagle Scout

Sometimes moms know best. Jace Robertson claims that the only thing that kept him involved in scouting was his mom, but now that he has completed the requirements and earned the rank of Eagle Scout, he is glad that she did.

Why must power be shut off to Nebraskans? It ought to be criminal!

How is it possible that a “regional transmission authority” in Arkansas can order our Nebraska public power utilities to shut off electricity to Nebraskans? Nebraska by itself has more than enough electrical generation within our own state to meet the load requirements that Nebraska users have. Why must power be shut off to Nebraskans?

The Safe Connections Act

COVID-19 brought with it many new challenges, including furloughs, unemployment, and hospitals struggling to keep up with surges of new patients. We all hear about those things every day. But you may not have heard about how the pandemic has made it much harder for victims of domestic violence to seek help.

Connecting every corner of Nebraska

Nebraska is a national leader in the quality of our state highway system. This is no accident—Nebraskans take pride in building high-quality infrastructure and understand the importance of connecting our communities to grow our state. For example, Nebraska’s farmers and ranchers led the charge for rural electrification in the 1930s. With their backing, Nebraska Senator George Norris co-sponsored the Rural Electrification Act, which was key to bringing electricity to rural communities throughout the state. Today, we have the opportunity to build next generation infrastructure by expanding reliable, high-speed broadband networks to every corner of Nebraska.
