Ainsworth Track Teams Qualify Seven for the 2024 NSAA State Track Meet in Class C

Mother’s were able to share Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 12th, with their seniors at Ainsworth Community Schools as they watched their children cross the stage to receive their high school diplomas. This year, the class of 2024 consisted of 33 seniors who have met all the requirements to graduate.

Ainsworth Boys Golf Team Competes in Valentine Invitational

The Ainsworth Boys Golf Team was in Valentine at Frederick Peak for their last regular season golf meet on May 9th. “It was a terrible day for everyone except for Airyan Goochey, who had his personal best and broke 100 for the first time in competition,” said Head Coach Julie Micheel.
Viewers’ Choice Award to Lynn Robertson

The 60th annual spring art show of the Ainsworth Art Guild ended on April 27th at the Ainsworth Public Library. The memorial and historic displays of members’ artwork was a great success. Many viewers signed the registration book for a chance to win an art-related door prize and voted for their personal favorite piece of art. This year’s Viewers’ Choice Award went to Lynn Robertson for her photo entitled “Evening Flights,” a colorful sunset with jet trails, clouds and an unidentified bird. The photo was also selected for showing at the Association of Nebraska Art Clubs’ conference and show in June at Fremont.

Brown County Commissioners Discuss Resurfacing Meadville Avenue, Wages and Budget Preparation

The Brown County Commissioners met on March 2nd in the Brown County Courthouse for their regular semi-monthly meeting. Budget Preparation Caleb Johnson met with the Commissioners to discuss upcoming budget preparation services.

Ainsworth Firemen Tackle Bale Fire on a Hay Trailer

Normally when the fire department is called to a bale fire, the firemen are able to use a tractor and loader to spread the bales out so the fire can be controlled or put out...not so in this case. The Ainsworth Fire Department was called to a hay trailer fire on at 8:30 p.m.

With ACS in the “Green Zone,” Board of Education Recommends Not Requiring Masks Beginning Monday, March 15th

The Ainsworth Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, March 8th. Members present were Jessica Pozehl, Mark Johnson, Henry Beel, Jim Arens, Scott Erthum and Brad Wilkins.

Brown County Commissioners to Consider Refinancing Hospital Bond

During the regular meeting of the Brown County Commissioners on February 16th, the Commissioners were informed that refinancing the hospital bond could save in excess of $40,000.00. Andy Forney of DA Davidson explained to the commissioners that bond rates are at a 70 year low and refinancing the hospital bond now could save the county money.

Lady Badgers lose to Lady Dawgs

The Lady Badgers played Ainsworth’s Lady Dawgs at Broken Bow’s gym. The Lady Badgers lost with a score of 51-59.

Williams signs to wrestle with Northern State
