Fire Prevention Activities Finds Firemen Teaching Youth About Fire Prevention

Ainsworth Volunteer Firemen delayed activities with youth from the area during Fire Prevention Week due to bad weather. Even though activities were delayed a week, bad weather required activities to be held inside. Fireman Kurt Starkey is shown above at Kayla Arens Day Care using a piece of equipment to show students’ fingerprints on a wall they had just touched.

Firemen Justin Nickless, Scott Goodloe and Drake Fiala, explain how all the equipment on the table is used during fires and auto accidents.

This year the firemen turned the meeting room at the fire hall into a maze filled with smoke. The students had to find their way out of the room, learning to stay low.

Always a treat, is when the kids get to put on the fire gear to see what it feels like. Drake Fiala helped some youth put on a helmet, goggles and fire coat.
