Ainsworth Community Schools to Withdraw from Southwest Conference

Withdrawal from SWC During the regular meeting of the Ainsworth Community Schools Board of Education on Monday, February 12th, the board had received permission from the superintendents involved in the Southwest Conference to withdrawal from the SWC effective after the 2023-2024 school year. After open discussion at the January 9, 2024 regular school board meeting, it was clear the Ainsworth Board would be ready to entertain a motion to formally withdrawal from the Southwest Conference.

Long Pine City Council Approves Up to $70,000.00 for a New Pay Loader

Long Pine City Council met in regular session on Thursday, February 7th with all councilmen Linda Alberts, Dave Cheatum, Bryan Sanford and Andrea Collatos, present. Reports Tanya Storer approached the council to let them know she is a candidate running for the Nebraska Legislature District 43.

February 4th – February 10th, 2024 Sunday, February 4th Officer issued citations to three individuals for assault. A Nebraska male subject was jailed and issued a citation for violating a Protection Order and Domestic Assault.

NPPD Begins Process to Add New Generation for Future Growth

USDA Reopens Signup for Continuous Conservation Reserve Program

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is now accepting applications for the Continuous Conservation Reserve Program (Continuous CRP) signup. USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) encourages agricultural producers and landowners in Nebraska who are interested in conservation opportunities for their land in exchange for yearly rental payments to consider the enrollment options available through Continuous CRP, which also includes the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP) offered by FSA partners. Additionally, producers participating in CRP can now apply to re-enroll, if their contracts will expire this year.
