On Friday, October 23rd, the Gregory cheer and dance teams will travel to Rapid City to compete in the Class A State Competitive Cheer and Dance competition. For the last time this season, the dancers and cheerleaders will perform all three of their routines for the judges in the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center full of fans and approximately 20 teams competing. But this state competition will look very different as the tournament is in 2 pods and there is no awards ceremony. Gregory is in Pod 1. They will be traveling to Rapid City the morning of Friday, October 23, as there is a playoff football game Thursday night. They get a practice time at 10:30 a.m. and then move into the actual competition time which starts at 12 p.m. Pod 2 will come in to practice at 2 p.m. and their competition begins at 3 p.m. The Class A’s will wind down about 4:30 when they will announce the awards on SDPB.
