Karon Kay Bussinger, 77

Karon Kay Bussinger was born February 28, 1944 in Atkinson, NE, the oldest child of Inez (Kaiser) and Francis Weller. She passed away on July 11, 2021 peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family.

Karon attended school at District #76 until the 8th grade and later graduated in May of 1961 from St. Joseph’s High School in Atkinson.

She married Michael Bussinger of Bassett, NE on August 9, 1963. To this marriage six children were born. Karon lived most of her married life in the Grand Island, NE area until moving back to Atkinson in 2011.

Just one of the many careers she had through the years was working for the State of Nebraska for 17 ½ years.

Karon is survived by her children, Kris Bussinger (Ronald Dodge) of Ainsworth, Timothy (Becky) Bussinger of Atkinson, Michelle Quintero of Grand Island, Angela (Manuel) Swartz of Grand Island and Kori Reams of Aberdeen, SD; 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Michael; and infant son, Michael (who passed away at birth).
