Ainsworth High School graduate Cameryn Goochey has been selected as the 2022-23 KBRB Athlete of the Year. Goochey was a 12-sport athlete during her Bulldog career, receiving 11 varsity letters.

With baseball players looking on, Robert Beatty, General Manager of KBR Rural Public Power (left), presented Brandon Evans, representing E&L Baseball (right) with a check for $500.00. KBR RPPD Operation Roundup donated the money to the E&L Baseball Program to help fund a new scoreboard on the south ball field. The KBR RPPD Operation Roundup is funded by customers who roundup their bills to the next dollar. Those funds then go into a fund and the Roundup Board of Pam Bauer, Sonny Corkle, Jeff Andersen and Rob Lee review grant applications of various civic groups and organizations in the four county area served by KBRB RPPD to award funds. Evans estimates the cost of a new scoreboard for the south Little League field at $5,000.00. Any individual or organization wanted to donate to the new scoreboard can contact or make donations to the Ainsworth Elks Lodge or American Legion. Eight teams competed in the 2-Couple Golf Scramble at the Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course on Saturday, June 10th. Each team was made up of two couples with either the men or women teeing off and then alternating shots from there to finish the hole.

Shooting a three shot under par round of 33, Nick Martin led the field Thursday, June 1st during Men’s League Golf at the Ainsworth Golf Course. Robert Magill shot a one-under par round of 35 for a second week.

The American Legion Auxiliary and Junior Auxiliary of Unit #79, will celebrate Poppy on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. The distribution of Poppies will be 9:00 a.m 11:00 a.m.

Nebraska Scholastic Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame Class of 2023 will be inducted into the NSWCA Hall of Fame on Friday, June 9th at the annual NSWCA banquet at 5:00 p.m. at Boarders Inn & Suites in Grand Island.
