Ainsworth Junior High Golfers Hit the Links

The Ainsworth Middle School golf team is in full swing with competitions this spring. After some uncooperative weather earlier in the season, the team played in their first tournament at the Bassett Country Club on Thursday, April 20th. ‘The golfers played from the red tee boxes, and had to battle the cold, wind and rain to complete their first tournament.

Sandhills Rod and Gun Club Trap League

Second night of Trap League at the Sandhills Rod and Gun Club was held on April 26th. Team scores for the week were Ainsworth Golf and Mob County Teams tied with 412, Ripley Chevy - 408, First Class Auto - 406, Hollenbecks - 403, Weed Wackers - 393, Doug’s Mobil - 392, Jones Trucking - 385 and Morgon Electric - 374.

Ainsworth Track Teams Compete in SWC Track Meet

Ainsworth Boys and Girls Track Teams were in Ogalala on Saturday, April 29th for the Southwest Conference Track Meet. The Ainsworth girls tied for 7th place with 29 points.

A.H.S. All Sports Banquet Winners Announced

The Ainsworth Lions Club hosted the 55th Annual A.H.S. All Sports Tailgate Party on Tuesday, April 25th in McAndrew Gymnasium to honor this year’s athletes.

AHS Students Attend Husker Red & White Spring Game

AHS Football Coach Jessi Owen took his top weight room attendees to watch the Cornhuskers Spring Game on Saturday, April 22nd. Owen said, “Hard work is rewarded.” Owen reported he was only missing two of his regular weight room crew, Riggin Blumenstock and Trey Appelt.

Ripley Chevy Leads Spring Trap League After First Week

The first night of Spring Trap League started April 19th at the Sandhills Rod and Gun Club with nine teams shooting. Ripley Chevy lead the way with 206 while the Weed Wackers, Hollenbecks and 1st Class Auto all shot 203.

Ainsworth Boys Golf Team Competes in O’Neill Invitational

Another cold, windy day greeted the Ainsworth Boys Golf Team as they competed in the O’Neill Invitational on April 20th. Individual scores for Ainsworth were Ethan Fernau - 95, Jhett Hollenbeck - 96, Aiden Jackman - 105, Airyan Goochey - 105 and Landon Holloway - 115.
