Brown County Report

February 28 - March 6, 2021

Sunday February 28th

Responded to a noise complaint in Johnstown. A verbal warning was given.

The Brown County Ambulance Association transported an Ainsworth resident to the Brown County Hospital.

The Brown County Ambulance Association transferred a patient from the Brown County Hospital to Faith Regional in Norfolk.

Received a report of a missing dog. The dog was found and returned to its owner.

Monday, March 1st

Responded to a report of a vicious dog on North Woodward Street. The owner was contacted and a verbal warning was issued.

The Brown County Ambulance Association responded to an emergency call at an Ainsworth residence. No one was transported at the time.

During a traffic stop on Hwy. 20, a subject was arrested and booked into the Brown County Jail for driving under the influence.

Investigated a report of a sex offender failing to report for verification. A report was forwarded to the County Attorney for review.

Received a report of possible child abuse or neglect in Ainsworth.

Tuesday, March 2nd

Released a subject from the Brown County Jail on bond.

Assisted rural residents with putting cattle back into a pasture, south of Ainsworth.

The Brown County Ambulance Association transported an Ainsworth resident to the Brown County Hospital.

Received a request for an attempt to locate a missing person visiting in Brown County. The individual was located and was safe.

Provided traffic control for 215 head of cattle crossing Hwy. 20 at Norden Road.

Deputies responded to a report of harassment in Ainsworth. A subject was contacted and a verbal warning was issued.

Performed a traffic stop on Hwy. 20 in Ainsworth. A citation was issued for driving under suspension.

Wednesday, March 3rd

Assisted an out-of-area resident with a property issue in Brown County.

Booked an individual into the Brown County Jail on a court ordered commitment.

Provided assistance for court ordered property exchange.

Responded to a report of suspicious activity and possible attempted theft from a rural Long Pine residence. This is an open investigation.

After responding to reports of dogs-at-large on West 2nd Street, a citation was issued to an Ainsworth resident for dogs-at-large.

Received reports of a vehicle speeding on Ulrich Street. Extra patrols were provided to the area.

Assisted a resident with a report of a scam call. They were referred to the Attorney General’s Fraud and Scam line.

Issued a citation for dogs-at-large to an Ainsworth resident after responding to multiple complaints.

Responded to reports of a subject possibly needing assistance on 1st Street. The subject was located and turned over to a family member.

Received a report of missing dogs from an Ainsworth residence.

Thursday, March 4th

Received a report of a possible intoxicated driver. The vehicle was located and a welfare check was provided.

Responded to reports of a large piece of metal impeding traffic on Hwy. 20. The object was safely removed.

Received reports of possible child abuse or neglect in Ainsworth.

Investigated a two-vehicle accident without injury at an Ainsworth business parking lot.

Assisted an Ainsworth resident with property found on the roadway. The owner was contacted and belongings were retrieved.

Assisted an Ainsworth resident missing a dog. The animal was located and returned.

Friday, March 5th

Received reports of missing dogs in North Brown County.

Assisted an individual with a report of possible criminal activities in Brown County.

Received reports of a scam call involving grandchildren. Caller was referred to the Attorney General’s Fraud and Scam line.

Received reports of a vehicle driving recklessly on South Street. Extra patrols were provided to the area.

An Ainsworth resident reported a missing dog. The owner located the missing dog.

Provided a civil standby while individuals gathered personal property from an Ainsworth residence.

Ainsworth Fire Department responded to reports of a truck/ trailer on fire south of Keller Park. Deputies provided traffic control.

During a traffic stop a subject was arrested and booked into the Brown County Jail for driving under the influence, flight to avoid arrest and resisting arrest. A citation was issued for speeding and no tail lights.

Saturday, March 6th

Investigated a vehicle/deer accident without injury on Hwy. 20, east of Ainsworth.

Responded to a report of barking dogs on North Main Street. A report will be forwarded to the County Attorney for review.

Investigated a report of possible drug activity. A vehicle was located and a search was conducted.

While performing a traffic stop on Hwy. 183, Dutch the K9 Unit was deployed with negative results.
