Carol Woods was very glad the Saturday evening and Sunday morning rain/snow mix missed us. It was great to have a nice sunny day on Sunday. Although it was chilly with the wind. The extreme cold and below zero weather is getting old. Carol’s brother, Jim Marsh of Ceresco, already had three inches of snow by 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Carol was surprised the birds came to the electric water dish that had been set up outdoors for her pets. The bird tracks were all over in the snow including on the snow on the frozen water dish.

We hope the electricity crisis has passed so there will be no further black-outs and people in the south will begin to recover. A friend’s daughter in Texas was out of electricity for 47 hours. Maybe electric cars won’t be so good if there is a shortage of electricity.

The Lent season began this past Wednesday with Ash Wednesday, which is 40 days prior to Easter excluding Sundays.

Carol’s brother, Jim, relayed that a lot of planes are flying over as they are being moved from Offutt in Omaha to the Lincoln airport. The runways are being torn up and redone at Offutt.
