Drivers Be Aware: Highway 20 Reduced Speed Limit Signs Moved Farther Out; Project Construction to Begin April 11th
Driving from the west on Highway 20 towards Ainsworth, the 35 mph speed limit sign was moved from just west of city limits to just east of 430th Avenue. The 45 mph sign and the reduced speed ahead signs were moved westward accordingly. This was done ahead of construction on the Highway 20 Rehabilitation project through Ainsworth, which will begin Monday, April 11th with the widening of the highway on the north side.
Coming into Ainsworth from the east on Highway 20, the 35 mph speed limit sign was moved from just east of Bomgaars to just east of K-C Kollision, which is shown on the right side of the photo above. The 45 mph and reduced speed ahead signs were moved farther east accordingly. The movement was necessitated by the extension of Highway 20’s center turning lane to the edge of city boundaries on both the east and west.
