KBR Rodeo Club Members Qualify for State High School Finals in Valentine

The following KBR Rodeo Club members qualified for the Nebraska State High School Rodeo Finals that will take place in Valentine beginning June 10. Kit Painter - Breakaway & Team Roping Branden Freudenburg - Tie Down & Team Roping Maci Herrington - Pole Bending, Breakaway, and Barrels Ely Weller - Light Rifle & Trap Ella Dailey - Pole Bending, Breakaway, and Barrels Rifle and trap competition will start at 9 a.m.

Brown County American Legion Post 79 Holds May Meeting

The regular meeting of American Legion Post Number 79 was called to order by Commander Judy Walters at 7:45 p.m. with five Legion members and one Sons of the American Legion member present.

Sandhills Quilt Guild to Hold Patriotic Quilt Show

In honor of America’s 250th birthday, the Sandhills Quilt Guild will host a patriotic quilt show during the Sandhills Ranch Expo June 17 and 18. A quilt show is held annually in the church by the Rock County Museum.

Brown County Sheriff's Office to Run on Modified Hours

The Brown County Sheriff's Office would like to inform the public that, due to unforeseen staffing shortages, the Sheriff's Administrative Office will temporarily operate on modified hours beginning Friday, June 12, 2026. Effective on that date, the office will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Lion's Club Conducts May Meeting

The Ainsworth Lions Club held its regular monthly meeting at noon on May 18 at the Ainsworth Senior Center. Lion President Geraldine Erickson called the meeting to order with seven members present.

Ainsworth Public Library Celebrates America's Birthday

The Ainsworth Public Library and the Ainsworth Library Foundation will hold programs to celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States. Join the library in the patriotic fun from June 22nd to July 6th.

Ainsworth Women’s League Golf

Jen Martin carded a 4-over par round of 40 to earn the top score Wednesday during women’s league golf at the Ainsworth Golf Course. Heather Lutter finished two shots back with a round of 42.

Ainsworth Men’s League Golf

Robert Magill’s 1-under par round of 35 claimed the top spot Thursday during men’s league golf at the Ainsworth Golf Course. Magill finished one shot ahead of Jaxon Rucker’s evenpar 36.
