Ainsworth Community Schools Begins Classes on Thursday, August 13

Ainsworth Community Schools will open its doors to students for the 2026-27 school year on Thursday, August 13. The school has a host of new employees beginning this year.
Ainsworth Reclaims Border Cup

Ainsworth recaptured the Border Cup Saturday at the Ainsworth Golf Course, winning the annual match play event between members of the Ainsworth Golf Course and Bassett Country Club by a score of 15-1/2 to 9-1/2.

The rumble of motorcycles and the spirit of generosity filled the roads of north central Nebraska on Saturday as the Celtic Riders hosted their annual Miles That Matter Poker Run, raising funds to help Ainsworth youngster Kolter Mizner and his family.

Century Lumber Center of Ainsworth held two drawings with entries taking place the last week of June and ending on Independence Day weekend. One drawing celebrated America’s 250th birthday.

Selected by the school’s coaches, faculty and A Club, the Athlete of the Year is presented to a senior class member who excelled both on the playing field and court as well as in the classroom and the community.

Prairie View Gospel Barn is bringing Grammy-nominated, three-time International Bluegrass Music Association vocal group of the year and video of the year Authentic Unlimited on Sunday, June 28. “I cannot emphasize enough how talented these men are and how excited we are to have them at the Barn,” Geoff Smith wrote on the Gospel Barn Facebook page.

June 14th The Ainsworth Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Ainsworth Community Schools. The fire department reported that there was not a fire after walking the school and reset the alarm.

The Lord has given most of us a good life filled with blessings, but with me, no matter how much “stuff” we accumulate, it does not bring spiritual contentment or joy. And in all honesty, it’s not supposed to. I’ve been around a while, and lately I’m rarely pleased with anything. I realize I’m probably too picky, but I have a standard that simply wants what I pay for.
