Area youth had the opportunity again this year to learn to play golf. Youth Kindergarten through 8th Grade were taught about golf on four Wednesdays during June at the Ainsworth Golf Course.

The annual 2024 Garth Swett Memorial Kickball Tournament was held on Philben Field on Saturday, June 29th with 1st Class Auto Team taking first place. 1st Class Auto defeated SFC Cross Hammers by a score of 5-4 in the championship game.

Last week of individual golfing for the season with the Ainsworth’s Women’s Golf League has been completed, the team of Amanda Murphy, Christy Fullen and Natalie Leach remain in first place with 67 points. The team of Ann Hoch, Jen Martin and Wendy Wilkins are in second place with 60 points and in third place is the team of Julie Micheel, Stephanie Kinzie and Kathy Worrell with 51.50.

Nick Martin’s 1-under par round of 35 was the top effort Thursday during men’s league golf at the Ainsworth Golf Course. Martin finished two shots clear of Graig Kinzie, who posted a 1-over par round of 37. John Pierce and Brett Knoetzel carded rounds of 38, followed by Cody Goochey and Landon Welke with rounds of 39.

After six weeks of Ainsworth’s Women’s Golf League completed, the team of Amanda Murphy, Christy Fullen and Natalie Leach are still in first place with 60.50 points. The team of Ann Hoch, Jen Martin and Wendy Wilkins are in second place with 51 points and in third place is the team of Julie Micheel, Stephanie Kinzie and Kathy Worrell with 43.50.

With five weeks of Ainsworth’s Women’s Golf League completed, the team of Amanda Murphy, Christy Fullen and Natalie Leach remains in first place with 51.50 points. In second place with 43.50 points is the team of Ann Hoch, Jen Martin and Wendy Wilkins.

Featuring more than 1,700 contestants from 44 states, five Canadian Provinces, Australia, Mexico and New Zealand, the 2024 National High School Finals Rodeo will be held at the Sweetwater Events Complex in Rock Springs, WY, July 14th through July 20th, 2024.

Fisher and Sons won the Brown County Hospital 21st Annual Fundraising Golf Tournament held Friday June 14, 2024 at the Ainsworth Golf Course Due to the lightning, play had to stop before all teams were finished. Flights were determined by 1st round play.

After four weeks, the tie for first place has been broken with the team of Chad Pierce, John Pierce and Kenny Wasmund taking solo first place with 25 points. The team of Graig Kinzie, Robbie France and Troy Brodbeck are in second place, just one point behind with 24 points.
