BKR Rodeo Club Competes in Two Rodeos

The KBR Rodeo Club had a double header this past weekend with two rodeos being held. The club was in Bloomfield on Saturday, August 26th.

Traegan McNally Breaks School Tackle Record

Traegan McNally broke the AHS School Tackle Record on Friday, August 25th against the North Central Knights. McNally broke t h e combined tackle record of 162 with his 163rd tackle.

Dove Season Opens September 1st

Dove season opens on September 1st in Nebraska. Doves may be hunted statewide September 1 – October 30, 2023, with daily bag and possession limits of 15 and 45, respectively.

KBR High School Rodeo Club Starts Season

The KBR High School Rodeo Club started its season on August 12th and 13th hosting the Nebraska High School Rodeo in Bassett at the Rock County Fair Grounds. Results for club members from the rodeo in Bassett on August 12th and 13th were: Saturday: Bryce Painter taking 10th in Tie Down; Maci and Gage Herrington placed 7th in Team Roping; Gage Herrington took 4th in Saddle Bronc and Maci Herrington Grand Island, NE - September 4th.

Bataganza at Fort Niobrara NWR

Come learn about the creatures that hunt the night and then how the stars and night skies are important to them. Stay after dark to learn about the night skies. Niobrara National Scenic River is happy to announce a special event hosted with our partner, Fort Niobrara National Wildlife Refuge, normally closed after dark. On August 26, Bataganza will start at 8:00 p.m. central time and Night Sky program will follow.

Ainsworth Women’s Golf League Season Comes to a Close

The 2023 Ainsworth Women’s Golf League wrapped up Wednesday, August 16th with their year end meeting. After 17 teams completed 12 weeks of play, the following were announced as the winners: (Left to Right): Third Place - Lydia Allen and Ashley Martin, First Place - Julie Micheel, Stephanie Kinzie and Kathy Worrell, and Second Place - Ann Hoch, Wendy Wilkins and Jennifer Martin.
