The Ainsworth High School Boys Golf Team wrapped up its regular season play with Highway 20 Boys Golf Invitational in Bassett on May 8th and the Valentine Invitational on May 11th. Eleven teams competed in Bassett with Stuart winning the invitational with a team score of 356.

After an interesting season, area track teams converged on Atkinson for the Class C-5 District Track Meet on Thursday, May 11th to seek qualification in the 2023 NSAA State Track Meet to be held in Omaha on May 19th and 20th.

The Ainsworth Boys Golf Team was south of Kearney, NE near Axtell, NE at Awari Dunes for the the Southwest Conference Golf Tournament on May 4th. The Ainsworth golf team placed ninth out of nine teams, but Coach Julie Micheel said, “I was very happy with today’s results.

The Ainsworth Boys Golf Team hosted the Ainsworth Invitational on May 1st at the Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course. Seven teams competed with West Holt taking first place with a team score of 361 while North Central took second place with a team score of 378.

The Ainsworth Middle School golf team is in full swing with competitions this spring. After some uncooperative weather earlier in the season, the team played in their first tournament at the Bassett Country Club on Thursday, April 20th. ‘The golfers played from the red tee boxes, and had to battle the cold, wind and rain to complete their first tournament.

The Ainsworth Girls Track Team took first place at the Greg Gass Invitational Track Meet in Valentine on May 5th with 136 team points. The girls came home with a lot of first place medals.

Second night of Trap League at the Sandhills Rod and Gun Club was held on April 26th. Team scores for the week were Ainsworth Golf and Mob County Teams tied with 412, Ripley Chevy - 408, First Class Auto - 406, Hollenbecks - 403, Weed Wackers - 393, Doug’s Mobil - 392, Jones Trucking - 385 and Morgon Electric - 374.

Athletes from the Ainsworth Girls and Boys Track Teams competed in the NEN Classic in Norfolk on Thursday, April 27th. Katherin Kerrigan brought home first place in the 1600 Meter Run and third place in the 3200 Meter Run.

The Ainsworth Boys Golf Team competed in a Triangular at the Bassett Golf Course on April 27th. The Valentine team took top honors with a team score of 187.
