This group of tri-county sophomores and juniors visited the Ainsworth Star-Journal during the BKR Extension Career Fair on February 23rd. They listened to Pressman Matt Esterly (far back) explain the press as it printed newspapers and learned more about journalism, editing, communications and advertising careers from (far right to left) C.O.E. student Alyssa Erthum and Associate Editor Lydia Allen. -
These students visited Canyon Creek Restaurant on Highway 20 in Ainsworth to hear from representatives about the restaurant business. Kristin Olson from the North Central Development Center (NCDC) was also there to talk about the many career opportunities in the surrounding area. Olson stated the following message to the students: “There aren’t just lots of jobs available in our local community. There are lots of good jobs.” -
This group of students received a tour of Daniels Manufacturing. Employees provided a visual presentation of the type of work they complete. They also discussed the training and experience required for a career in commercial and industrial manufacturing. -
At Homestead Bank, local students asked questions about credit scores and student loans and learned about what type of schooling is required should they seek a career in financial service.
