Here are a few opportunities: Spectacular Stars, Magnificent Moths event is July 17 Join the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and Northern Prairies Land Trust to discover the world of nighttime insects during the Spectacular Stars, Magnificent Moths virtual event at 7 p.m.

As we reflect on our nation’s birthday, I would like to talk about something near and dear to my heart: Offutt Air Force Base. During my military career I was fortunate to have been stationed there for three years assigned to the National Airborne Operations Center (NAOC). This group carries out an extremely important mission that is essential to our national defense. Offutt is something that we should all be proud of as patriots.

BKR Extension visited McAndrew Elementary students attending summer school in June. One activity challenged students to create a parachute that was able to keep an egg inside the cup safe from breaking while it floated down.

Question: Will cornmeal kill weeds in my lawn? At first it seemed like an odd question but, after researching I realized how the question would have come to mind. No, cornmeal does not kill or prevent weeds but corn gluten meal may work as a pre-emergent.
