Friday, May 2nd: Twisted dog, cheesy pizza, sausage pizza, spicy chicken sandwich basket, baked zesty combo sub and BBQ baked beans.

Addilyn Doke Qualifies for National FCCLA Competition

The State FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) Convention took place in Lincoln at Pinnacle Bank Arena on April 6-8. Payton Moody and Ady Sears earned silver in Interior Design, Isabelle Arens and Miranda Lambrecht also received silver medals in Nutrition and Wellness. Addilyn Doke earned the title of State Champion in Fashion Construction and advances to Nationals in Orlando this July.

Ainsworth Students Compete in District Music Contest

On Friday, April 25, the Ainsworth Music Department traveled to O’Neill, to participate in the District Music Contest. The Ainsworth Band performed in the morning during the large group portion of the day.

Plum Creek Fire Burns over Seven Thousand Acres

What started as a prescribed burn 4 miles west and 1 mile north of Johnstown on April 21 quickly became an uncontained fire that would scorch a large portion of the Nebraska Sandhills. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission along with other partners were assisting with the burn, but the fire broke containment when strong winds switched direction in the early afternoon.
