    USDA Now Accepting Applications for Farm Loans Online

    The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has launched an online application for Direct Loan customers. More than 26,000 customers who submit a Direct Loan application each year can now use an online, interactive, guided application that is paperless and provides helpful features including an electronic signature option, the ability to attach supporting documents such as tax returns, complete a balance sheet and build a farm operating plan. This tool is part of a broader effort by USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) to streamline its processes, improve customer service, and expand credit access.

    Ainsworth Fire Department Burns Ainsworth Livestock Auction as Training Aid

    Residents of Ainsworth saw a lot of smoke on the north edge of Ainsworth on Sunday morning, December 10th. The Ainsworth Fire Department burned the old Ainsworth Livestock Auction building, house and out buildings Sunday morning. Fire Chief Brad Fiala said Meyers Construction of Broken Bow purchased the property from Roger Lechtenburg and will be clearing the property. Meyers Construction is the general contractor on the $2.3 million North Main Street Project. Meyers Construction will clear the property and use it as a staging area for the North Main Street Project to be completed in 2024. According to the

    Long Pine City Council Sets Hearing Date to Abandon Two Streets

    At the regular meeting of the Long Pine City Council on December 7th, the council set January 4th as a date for a hearing to consider abandoning two streets on the western side of Long Pine. Mayor Ed Brown said landowners adjacent to the two streets, Maple Street between Fourth and Sixth Streets; and Sixth Street between Maple and Spruce Streets.

    Santa and Mrs. Claus Made Their Stop in Long Pine on December 9th

    Young and old alike stopped into the Long Pine Fire Hall to say Hi to Santa and Mrs. Claus who were assisted by the Long Pine Chamber of Commerce. Making this a family photo moment were Margo Lehn holding Nora Lehn, Eli Lehn, Jaiden Lehn and Jason Lehn. This kids came prepared and shared their letters with the Clauses so they didn’t leave anything out.
