    Ride-2-Remember Marks Half Way Point in Ainsworth

    Five 1973 graduates of the United States Naval Academy arrived in Ainsworth on Sunday, September 3rd. Dave Haefnel, Bill Montgomery, Ron Bowman, Doug Leland and Tom Tesoriero are riding their bicycles across the United States to symbolically gather deceased classmates back to Annapolis for their 50th reunion.

Hearings The Council opened the meeting with three public hearings: • Budget Hearing on the Proposed 2023-2024 Budget; • Tax Request Hearing; and • Subdivision and Rezoning request for Seven Springs Bottling Co.

    Boat Ramp Access Limited at Sherman, Calamus

    Seasonal irrigation drawdowns at some north central reservoirs have caused boat ramp closures at two Nebraska Game and Parks state recreation areas. At Calamus Reservoir SRA, the Valley View Flat boat ramp is closed.

    Revised Wildlife Predator Statute Takes Effect September 2

    A revised statute allowing some Nebraska landowners to kill damage- causing wildlife predators becomes effective September 2. Predators included in this statute are badger, bobcat, coyote, gray fox, long-tailed weasel, mink, opossum, raccoon, red fox and skunk.
