The Ainsworth Middle School Wrestling Team were at the Burwell Invitational on November 10th. Ainsworth wrestlers took 5th place with 45 points.

Quarterback - Paiton Hoefer, senior from Elgin Public/Pope John. Running back - Jack Wemhoff, senior from Elgin Public/Pope John and Hudson Hoffman, sophomore from Boyd County.

Recently, while visiting from out of state, my father had a “health hiccup.” As we navigated getting this problem investigated and addressed, he was very concerned that we keep his primary care doctor informed. As my dad has said repeatedly, “I give him more grief than any of my other doctors, but I also listen to him more than any of my other doctors. He’s the only one looking out for all of me!”

Kirk Peterson of Ainsworth was one of the many deer hunters who took to the fields for the opening of Nebraska Deer Season on Saturday, November 12th. Peterson shot this nice five-point white tail deer north of Ainsworth in Brown County. Jim Pinney, owner of Husker Meats which is the deer check station for Ainsworth, reported 150 deer have been checked in as of early Monday morning. Pinney said they checked in 49 deer on Saturday with 98 more checked on Sunday and three checked early Monday morning. The season covers nine days and ends Sunday, November 20th.

Not to sure how many people expected to wake up to frost covered trees on Saturday morning, November 12th, but we did here in Ainsworth. The temperatures have really taken a dip and most weren’t ready for those temperatures to stick around, but sounds like they will be.

The Brown County Hospital Auxiliary and Brown County Community Fund recently donated toward the purchase of a new Dexa Scanner in the Radiology Department. Bone density or Dexa scans measure the mineral content of bones providing your primary care provider with a score to measure your risk of osteoporosis.
