As SD’s COVID numbers drop, Gregory County stalls

As of Monday, the number of active cases of COVID-19 in the state had fallen to 1933, and hospitalizations were down to 91, although a virus research group ranks the state, with a total of 1863 deaths, among the top 10 for the number of deaths relative to population.

Monday’s report also showed only 20 new confirmed cases in the state and ten probable. South Dakota ranks 38th in the country for new cases per capita according to Johns Hopkins University researchers.

Thirty-two of the state’s 66 counties had ten or fewer active cases according to the state’s Department of Health report; two of those had none. Gregory County had 21.
