NSAA Sees Official Shortage; Pandemic and Sportmanship Issues Likely Contributing
The number of officials (referees, umpires, line judges, etc.) in the NSAA is down 20% from last year, likely due to poor sportmanship towards officials and concerns around the pandemic. In 2020, the highest percentage (26%) of surveyed NSAA officials said they’d quit due to poor sportsmanship.
