These temperature swings may have had us wearing shorts one day and sweatpants the next, but they can also impact our landscapes.

Amy Johnson of Springview Herald Receives Harpst Leadership Nebraska Award

Amy Johnson, publisher of the Springview Herald, has been named a recipient of the Harpst Leadership Nebraska Award, presented by the Nebraska Press Association. Established by the Harpst family in memory of longtime newspaperman Don Harpst Sr., the award recognizes individuals who demonstrate outstanding leadership and a commitment to strengthening their communities through local journalism.

Nebraska Extension Hosts Beef Quality Assurance Training

Nebraska Extension is offering a Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) and Beef Quality Assurance Transportation (BQAT) training on April 13, in North Platte at West Central Research and Extension Center. The event begins at 4 p.m. Anyone involved in raising or handling cattle is encouraged to attend.

Learning Who God is and Who We are in Him

How many times will it need to be declared that we can have as much of God as we want? And how many tears will we shed from the sadness of knowing that most people only want enough to get by? Having a serious spiritual relationship with God is difficult, as it takes a high level of desire and discipline on our part. If we are not passionate about developing a constant awareness of His presence, our emotions have a tendency to slide into an easier routine of just calling on Him when we need something.

Brown County Sheriff’s Report

March 22 The Brown County Ambulance Association assisted the Brown County Hospital with the transfer of a patient. Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident north of Ainsworth.
