Living on Purpose: Freedom of Speech is a God Given Right

For the last few weeks we’ve been talking about the end times and what the Bible says about the future. We’ve touched on the prophecies of the rapture, the coming tribulation, the AntiChrist, and the second coming of Jesus. There are many interpretations of eschatology, which should stir us to study diligently about this important subject. One thing we can agree on is that Satan is turning up the heat with more lies, violence, and aggressive hatred. The Bible warns that compassion and basic human decency will dissolve from the conscience of those who choose to live without Christ. We mentioned how the Bible declares that severe persecution against Christians will increase as the masses continue to be confused about right and wrong, and lose their discernment of good and evil. We can see this today as those who boldly speak against the delirium and darkness of sin are targeted as deranged extremists.

Brown County Sheriff’s Report

September 14 A deputy responded to a truck tractor semi accident in the Long Pine hills on Highway 20. During the investigation it was discovered that the trailer of the semi hydroplaned and struck the south guardrail while negotiating the curve of the highway.

Suicide is a Health Issue; It Can Be Prevented:

When a suicide happens in a community, it impacts individuals related to the person and in many ways, is felt by everyone else who may not even know the person. Over 800,000 people die a year globally by suicide.

Brown County Commissioners Hold Final September Meeting

The Brown County Commissioners met on Tuesday, September 16, for their final regularly scheduled meeting of the month. All three board members, Dennis Bauer, Jeremiah Dailey, and Don Painter were present, along with Brown County Clerk Travee Hobbs, Brown County Roads Superintendent Kenneth Turpin, and Brown County Attorney Andy Taylor, along with several guests.

A Message from the Brown County Assessor’s Office

The Brown County Assessor’s Office has contracted Stanard Appraisal to review all commercial properties in Ainsworth, Long Pine, Johnstown, and rural areas in the county. The company will be out the last week of September and first full week of October.

Alarm bells are sounding over the lack of robust job growth in the state’s two largest cities. A recent study commissioned by the Omaha-based Aksarben Foundation indicated that job growth in Omaha and Lincoln lagged behind its peer cities, such as Sioux Falls, Des Moines and Oklahoma City.
