Candace (Candy) Strong Gonzales of Cottonwood, AZ was born on December 9th, 1951 in Rockford, IL and left us to be with our Lord Jesus on May 12th, 2023.
She and her husband along with her mother, Vonna (Clark) Strong, owned and operated the Holly Hock House and then Home Sweet Home Antiques in Cottonwood, AZ for 30 years.
She graduated from high school in Scottsbluff, NE. The family moved to Winston, AZ where she met her future husband, Joe Gonzales. They were married on May 16, 1981, later moving to Cottonwood where son John William “J.W.” was born on December 24, 1989.
Hunting for antiques and treasures on many trips to yard sales, estate sales as well as to the family Homestead in Meadville, NE were some of the things she enjoyed most.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Vonna (Clark) Strong and her grandparents Bill and Mary Clark, proprietors of the Meadville General Store from 1942 to 1959.
Candy is survived by her husband Joe, son J.W., sister Velvet Moore, brother Craig Strong and wife Jane, all of AZ along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
