William Jay Peterson, age 71, became the third child of Carroll and Betty Jean Peterson on July 5,1953 in Valentine, NE. He grew up in Kilgore, NE on the family ranch and enjoyed all aspects of living in the Sandhills. Bill attended grade school in Kilgore, and graduated from Cody-Kilgore High School. He went on to attend Chadron State College before pursuing a career in dentistry. Enrolling in the dental program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, he earned his DDS degree in 1980.
Funeral Service for Chester D. “Chet” Mizner, age 85, of Long Pine, NE will be held on Saturday , November 23, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Ainsworth. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Ainsworth Cemetery. Chet Mizner died Thursday, November 14, 2024 at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell, NE.
Survivors include: wife, Cheryl Mizner of Long Pine; sons: Brandon (Kerry) Mizner of Shawnee, KS and Chad Mizner of Omaha, NE; two granddaughters; along with other family members.
