With one week left in Men’s League Golf, the team of Shane Kinnick, Dane Sears and Dallas Fowler moved back into the lead with a team score of 64. They have a tenuous one-point lead over two teams that are tied for second place.

The Ainsworth Bulldog Football Team opened the 2021 season at home on Friday, August 27th and defeated the Plainview Pirates 82-44. Ainsworth won the coin toss and opted to receive the opening kickoff.

On Thursday, August 19th, three members of the Ainsworth High School Girls Golf team competed in the O’Neill Invitational golf tournament. Playing on the varsity squad for Ainsworth was Haley Schroedl shooting a 143, Shawna Fernau with a score of 158 and Allison Taylor shooting a 209.

“Coming off an 0-8 season, we are obviously itching for a win,” Head Coach Jessi Owen said as the Bulldog football team prepares for the 2021 season. They started off the year on August 19th with a scrimmage, and their first game will be played at home against Plainview on August 27th.

The Ainsworth Bulldog Volleyball team was honored with the Unites States Marine Corps (USMC)/American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the fourth year in a row. The award honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale.

Men’s League Golf is nearing the end and a new team has taken over first place in the Ainsworth Men’s League Golf on Thursday, August 19th. The team of Vance Heyer, Joel Klammer and Jade Egle moved into first place with a team score of 61 points.

The Bulldogs Cross Country teams are ready to kick off their 2021 season at their home invitational on Thursday, September 2nd. A new middle school coach, Jessica Kempcke, and a new assistant coach, Lauren Osborne, join Head Coach of 15 years Jared Hansmeyer for the season.

The Ainsworth Bulldogs volleyball team is ready to hit the court on Tuesday, August 24th at Valentine for the Jamboree against Cody- Kilgore. Four returning athletes are on their fourth year as varsity starters for the Bulldogs. They previewed their skills in a scrimmage on August 19th.

The Ainsworth Community Schools Board of Education voted unanimously on August 9th in favor of registering with the NSAA to add Girls Wrestling as a separate program at AHS for the 2021-2022 season. The deadline to register is September 1st.
