Bulldogs Drop First Home Game to Wildcats

The Ainsworth football team hosted its first game of the season on Friday, August 29, against a tough Hartington-Newcastle team. Several Bulldogs played well, including the likes of senior quarterback Chris Fernandez, who had 90 rushing yards and a touchdown, and sophomore Jacob Ortner, who had 129 yards gained along with a touchdown.

Nebraska Public Power District’s (NPPD) wholesale electric rates continue to rank among the most affordable in the nation. In 2016, NPPD began benchmarking its wholesale rates against others in the nation, utilizing a database maintained by the National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation (CFC).

A firearm hunter education course will be offered by Nebraska Game and Parks Commission volunteer instructors in Bassett on Saturday, September 20, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Commissioners Approve Mountain Lion Season

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission approved a 2026 mountain lion hunting season. Commissioners approved a season in three hunting units, increasing the harvest limit in one unit while keeping them the same in the other two.
