Mountain Lion Lottery Application Period Open Through December 11

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will accept lottery applications for mountain lion permits through December 11, 2024, for the 2025 hunting season. Permits are available only to Nebraska residents, who may have one permit per calendar year.

Ainsworth Lady Volleyball Team Ends Their 2024 Season 6-23

This year, the Ainsworth Bulldogs volleyball team will be losing senior Jolyn Pozehl. Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, Pozehl was injured very early in the season during a scrimmage and wasn’t able to play.

Lady Bulldogs Finish 2024-25 Volleyball Season

The Ainsworth Lady Bulldogs finished their 2024-25 volleyball season in district play on Monday, October 28th. The team played in Humphrey, NE against Summerland (Clearwater, Ewing and Orchard). Ainsworth was defeated in three sets, 17-25, 15-25 and 8-25.

Ainsworth Bulldog Football Season Wrap Up

The 2024 Ainsworth Football Team has wrapped up their season and says farewell to nine seniors. Most of the seniors started their varsity football careers in 2021 with Head Coach Jessi Owen.

Alpha Delta Announces Scholarship Winner

Alpha Delta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma met October 16, 2024 at The Pizza Place in Bassett for their second meeting of the year. Five members answered roll call and made a donation to Read Aloud Nebraska/ Nebraska State Project.

Brown County American Legion Post #79

Minutes for the October 22, 2024 meeting of Brown County American Legion Post 79, Ainsworth, NE. The regular meeting of American Legion Post Number 79 was called to order by Commander Judy Walters at 7:30 p.m.

Ainsworth Lions Club

The Ainsworth Lions Club held its regular monthly meeting at 12:00 noon on October 21, 2024 at the Ainsworth Senior Center. Lion President Dale Hafer called the meeting to order with 15 members present. Lion Treasurer Phil Fuchs submitted the Treasurer Report. The Activity Account had deposits for the sale of the popcorn machine and fines for the last several months that were donated back to the club by Lion Fuchs. The Administrative Account had a withdrawal for membership dues.

Eileen Cook Wins Nelson Football Jersey

A #29 Husker Home Football Jersey signed by Carter Nelson was recently raffled with proceeds to be used for the Ainsworth Football Team camps and equipment. A drawing was held during halftime of the Elgin Public/ Pope John football game on October 17th. Winning the signed jersey was Eileen Cook of Ainsworth.
