Ainsworth Golfers Recapture Border Cup from Bassett Golfers

Ainsworth recaptured the Border Cup Saturday, August 3rd with a 14-1/2 to 10-1/2 win over Bassett at the Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course. The 36-hole event features the top golfers from the Ainsworth Golf Course and the Bassett Country Club in a match-play format.

2024 BKR Shooting Sports was held recently at the Sandhills Rod and Gun Club. Following are the results: BB Gun Junior Division: Hayes Frizzell - champion purple, 252; Gavin Ellermeier - reserve purple, 206; Eli Beel - 3rd purple, 195; Otto Morgan - blue, 182; and Hunter Ammon - blue, 178.

Cody Goochey’s even par round of 36 claimed the top spot Thursday, Jully 18th during Men’s League Golf at the Ainsworth Golf Course. Goochey finished two shots ahead of Nick Martin, Cam Palmer, Gunnar Bussinger and Logan Leach, who carded rounds of 38.

After five weeks of Ainsworth Women’s Golf League being completed, the ladies continue to play in the scramble format. Teams turning in scores in the 30s included, Ashley Martin and Lydia Allen led the way with the low score of evening shooting a 34.

Forty-eight golfers participated in the July 17th, Ainsworth Youth Golf Tournament. Results are as follows: Kindergarten, 1st, & 2nd grade girls (playing holes 6, 7, and 8 from 50 yards): 1st place - Savannah Kohle - 17, 2nd place - Gracyn Peterson - 20, and 3rd place - Dallin Dailey - 21.

Kevin Martin led golfers with a 2-under par 34 during Men’s League Golf at the Ainsworth Golf Course on July 11th. Brett Knoetzel and Nick Martin were one shot behind with 35’s.
