Nebraska High School Rodeo Athletes Qualify for National High School Rodeo Finals

Featuring more than 1,700 contestants from 44 states, five Canadian Provinces, Australia, Mexico and New Zealand, the 2024 National High School Finals Rodeo will be held at the Sweetwater Events Complex in Rock Springs, WY, July 14th through July 20th, 2024.

Fisher and Sons won the Brown County Hospital 21st Annual Fundraising Golf Tournament held Friday June 14, 2024 at the Ainsworth Golf Course Due to the lightning, play had to stop before all teams were finished. Flights were determined by 1st round play.

After four weeks, the tie for first place has been broken with the team of Chad Pierce, John Pierce and Kenny Wasmund taking solo first place with 25 points. The team of Graig Kinzie, Robbie France and Troy Brodbeck are in second place, just one point behind with 24 points.

Team Chaos Drops Two Games to Atkinson 86ers

Ainsworth Men’s League “Team Chaos” lost two games in a double header against Atkinson 86ers in a Memorial Day Shoot Out in Ainsworth on Monday, May 27th. It was the second week for the Monday Night League. Schyler Privett (top picture) pitched two full games having only two walks. Matt Davis is the center fielder and is pictured batting (right).

Jonathan Edward Ortner of Ainsworth was among 3,484 graduates who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln during commencement exercises May 3rd, 17th and 18th. Ortner earned a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness from the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.

Nick Martin Wins Annual One-Person Scramble

Battling strong winds, Nick Martin shot an 8-under round of 64 to win the Championship Flight of the Annual One-Person Scramble Tournament at the Ainsworth Golf Course on Sunday, May 19th. Brett Knoetzel, shot a 3-under par 69 to take second place with third place going to Landon Welke, with a 70.

Ainsworth Boys Golf Team and Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course hosted its inaugural District Golf Meet. The 2024 D-3 District Golf Meet was held at the Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course on Monday, May 13th with 70 high school golfers representing 15 schools.
