Date Correction for Kindergarten Class Parent Meeting

The correct date for the Kindergarten Class Parent Meeting is May 7th. It was reported in last week’s Ainsworth Star-Journal that there will be an informational parent meeting on May 2nd at 6:30 p.m.

Ainsworth Boys Golf Team Competes in Ord Invitational

The Ainsworth Boys Golf Team was in Ord on April 4th for the Ord Invitaional. Jhett Hollenbeck led the Ainsworth team with a seventh place finish by shooting a 39/40 for a round of 79.

The Ainsworth Track Teams competed in the Sandhills Invitational Track Meet at Bassett on Monday, April 8th. The weather was cool, windy with sporatic moisture.

Ainsworth Destination Imagination Team Wins Trophy for Instant Challenge

Ainsworth’s competitive 5th grade Destination Imagination team competed at the Affiliate State Tournament on April 6th. They have been working all year on the Engineering Challenge, Going the Distance.

Information Sought in Killing of Two Mule Deer in Cherry County

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is seeking information on the illegal shooting and wanton waste of two mule deer in Cherry County, northwest of Cody, Nebraska. The mule deer were shot March 23 or 24 off of Hay Valley Rd.

Bighorn Sheep Lottery Applications Begin April 15th

School of Fish Teaches Young People About Fishing

Fifteen young people attended the School of Fish held in Ainsworth on March 28th at the Ainsworth Elks Lodge. School of Fish is held every other year and sponsored by Sandhills Pheasants Forever, Sandhills Rod and Gun Club and the Ainsworth Elks Club.
