Area Nebraska High School rodeo athletes competed in the 2022 National High School Finals Rodeo in Gillette, WY from July 17th through July 23rd. In Bareback Riding, Spencer Denayer of Seneca placed 11th with an aggregate score of 209.

Ten weeks into the season and with not many weeks left in Ainsworth Men’s Golf League, the team of Kevin Martin, Logan Leach and Brett Knoetzel have taken over solo first place with a team score of 51.

Ainsworth Women’s Golf League winners for scramble format on Wednesday, July 20th included these low scramble scores 35s - Ann Hoch, Jen Martin and Wendy Wilkins; and Heather Lutter, Mandy Evans and Tamara Hancock; 38s - Brenda Konkoleski, Chelsey Peterson, Rylee Pierce and Danielle Palmer; Calista Wilson, Jeri Graff and Kelli Kral; and Ashley Martin, Rachel Schumaker and Lydia Allen; and 39s - Julie Micheel, Stephanie Kinzie and Kathy Worrell..

Rich Crow Eagle shot a 5-under round of 67 to win the Men’s Open at the Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course on Sunday, July 17th. Forty-one golfers took to the course to compete in the annual Men’s Open Golf Tournament with temperatures in the upper 90’s during the afternoon.

Five golfers shared the top spot Thursday, July 14th during Men’s League Golf at the Ainsworth Golf Course. Bryce Coleman, Nick Martin, Logan Leach, Doug Weiss and Graig Kinzie each carded 1-over par rounds of 37 to lead the field. Jess Swan, Brett Knoetzel, Joel Klammer and Landon Welke each shot 2-over par rounds of 38.

Ainsworth Women’s Golf League winners for scramble format on Wednesday, July 13th. Low scores were: Low scramble scores for July 13 were: 33 - Ann Hoch, Jen Martin and Wendy Wilkins; 37 - Brenda Konkoleski, Chelsey Peterson, Rylee Pierce and Danielle Palmer; 38 - Kathy Worrell, Stephanie Kinzie and Julie Micheel; and 39 - Calista Wilson, Jeri Graff and Kelli Kral.

Thirteen golfers braved 102 degree temperatures and windy conditions to compete in the 1-Person Use-It or Lose-It Scramble Golf Tournament at the Ainsworth Golf Course on Sunday, July 10th. Logan Leach shot a 9-under 63 to take top honors in the Championship Flight.

During the 2 Couple Alternating Shot Scramble Tournament on Saturday, July 9th, the team of Kevin and Jen Martin and Logan and Natalie Leach took top honors in the championship flight by shooting 68. Second place honors went to Nick and Ashley Martin and Landon Welke and Lydia Allen shooting a 69. Finishing the placings in the championship flight taking third place was the team of Rex and Julie Micheel, Rachel Peers and AJ Mitchell.

The top score Thursday, July 7th during Men’s League golf at the Ainsworth Golf Course was a 2-over par 38. Brett Knoetzel, Joel Klammer and Logan Leach each posted rounds of 38, with Kyle Jackman and Noah Graff finishing with rounds of 39.

Ainsworth Women’s Golf League began playing the scramble format on Wednesday, July 6th. Low scores were: 38 - Ann Hoch, Jen Martin and Wendy Wilkins; Calista Wilson, Jeri Graff and Kelli Kral; and Heather Lutter, Mandy Evans and Tamara Hancock; and a 39 - Kathy Worrell, Julie Micheel and Stephanie Kinzie.
