Ainsworth Star-Journal Provides Kid Scoop News to 3rd - 5th Graders at Ainsworth Community Schools

Third through fifth graders at Ainsworth Community Schools are receiving kid-friendly print newspapers called Kid Scoop News delivered each month of the school year by the Ainsworth Star-Journal in partnership with the Nebraska Press Association Foundation. Above, Mrs. Fairhead’s third grade class enjoys reading their own personal newspapers.

Josh Smith (middle) and Landre Stephen (right) investigate the newest edition of Kid Scoop News. Like a standard newspaper that has sections including Sports, Public Notices and Classified, issues of Kid Scoop News have sections including Health, STEM, Civics, Money Matters, Animals and more.

This month’s copy has a Halloween theme, but also focuses on topics like fire safety, debit cards, kangaroos and freedom of speech.
