March 10th Through March 16, 2024 Sunday, March 10th Responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 20 near the Highway 183 Junction. Contact was made with the driver and a verbal warning was issued.

Ainsworth Track Teams Start 2024 Season

With the basketball season just finishing up, the Ainsworth Track Team starts the 2024 Track Season. Head Coach Jake Nelson stated, “We are low on numbers, especially on the boys’ side, but we have a ton of talent in this group of kids.” Coach Nelson reported there are only 26 athletes out for track this year.

SWC All-Conference Players Named

Coaches from the Southwest Conference have named the SWC All Conference players in both Girls Basketball and Boys Basketball. SWC Basketball All Conference Girls 1st Team: MaKinley Tobey (12) of Broken Bow, Aubrey O’Hare (12) of Gothenburg, Mattie Kamery (11) of Minden, Kendyl Delimont (12) of Ainsworth and Avery Hurlburt (12) of Holdrege.

The 2024 Boys Golf Season has started with the first Scramble to take place on March 26th at the Bassett Country Club in Bassett. Head Coach Julie Micheel, assisted by Rex Micheel, said, “We bring back strong upper classmen that will lead the team well.

Chan Studying Resilience of Sandhills Vegetation with Remote Sensing

On a hot June day in 2022, Catherine Chan walked into the Sandhills with a team of university researchers and realized she had walked into an ecological mystery. “It was a very warm evening, but when we walked into the interdunes, it changed from dry and soil-exposed to green and lush,” the Nebraska doctoral student said.

Troxel’s Graphite Drawing of “The Reatta” wins the Outstanding Artwork

Ainsworth High School Art Class participated in the Southwest Conference (SWC) Fine Arts Show held on Saturday, March 16th. Ainsworth had 11 students participate in Holdrege for this years SWC Art Show, with Kiara Troxel and her graphite drawing of “The Reatta” winning Outstanding Artwork for Ainsworth.
