Word has been received of the death of Helen Lois Jones, age 92 of Ainsworth, NE. Helen Jones passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at the Brown County Hospital in Ainsworth.

Abigail “Abby” Joy Petty, daughter of Doug and Jessica (Pierce) of Long Pine, NE was born January 12, 2009, in Vernal, UT. She passed away on January 2, 2024, at Children’s Nebraska in Omaha, NE as a result of a sudden illness. Abigail attended schools in La-Porte, TX, and Ainsworth, NE.

Funeral Services are pending at the Hoch Funeral Home in Ainsworth for Marvel M. Forgey, age 86, of Springview, NE. Marvel Forgey died Saturday, January, 13, 2024 at the Rock County Hospital in Bassett, NE.

E. Leigh Acord was born in Cornland, IL to Elmer and Edna (Hedger) Johnson, the youngest of three girls. Leigh passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at the Cottonwood Villa in Ainsworth, NE at the age of 90 years.

Word has been received of the death of George W. Botsford, age 95, of Ainsworth.

Alice Marie Keim was born July 23, 1934 and passed away on December 24, 2023 at the Sandhills Care Center in Ainsworth, NE. Marie was born at Long Pine, NE to Theodore Harry and Mabel Iva (Higginson) Sherman, the fifth of eight children. She was their only daughter. Her first years were during the Dust Bowl and she remembered her mother soaking bed sheets in water and hanging them at the windows of their farmhouse to keep the blowing dirt out.

Word has been received of the death of Elsie Leigh Acord, age 90, of Ainsworth, NE. A public visitation was held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at the Hoch Funeral Home in Ainsworth. A Funeral Service and burial will occur at a later time in Yampa, CO. Leigh Acord died Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at the Cottonwood Villa in Ainsworth.

Funeral Service for Alice Marie Keim, age 89, of Ainsworth, NE will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in the Ainsworth United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Ainsworth Cemetery. Marie Keim died Sunday, December 24, 2023 at the Sandhills Care Center in Ainsworth.

Kathleen “Kat” McFarlin was born to William and Mary Lee (Edwards) McFarlin on March 22, 1953 in Des Moines, IA. She passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023 at the Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney, NE at the age of 70 after a short illness.
