Larry Joseph Ries passed away on January 9, 2023 at his home. Funeral services were held on January 14th in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Atkinson, NE. Burial was in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Atkinson. Larry was born July 15, 1951 to George and Gladys Ries in Atkinson. He attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School where he graduated in 1969.

Billy Dean “Bill” Phillipps, 72, of Burwell, NE died January 8, 2023 at the Valley County Health Systems Hospital in Ord, NE. Bill was born September 9, 1950 in Burwell, NE to Dale and Elizabeth Belle (Hiser) Phillipps.

Word has been received of the death of Steven D. Carroll age 65 of Long Pine, NE. Steven Carroll passed away Friday, January 13, 2023 at his residence in Long Pine. Per his wishes, no services will be held.

Marla Klockman, 60, of Bridgewater, SD passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 31st, 2022 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Visitation will take place at Faith Temple Church, 2121 W 33rd Steet, in Sioux Falls, on Saturday, January 14 at 6:00 p.m.

Funeral Service for Eleanor F. Schipporeit, age 92 of Ainsworth, NE will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Ainsworth. Burial will follow in the Lutheran Cemetery in Ainsworth. Eleanor died Sunday, January 8, 2023 at the Brown County Hospital in Ainsworth.

Casey James Jochem of Long Pine, NE passed away on January 5, 2023. Casey was born on January 2, 1984 in Atkinson, NE to the parents of Craig and Doris (Dover) Jochem of Atkinson. During Casey’s childhood, you could find him atop of his cantankerous pony, Windy, with a rope in his hand.

A Private Family Service will be held at a later date for Kenneth E. “Bub” Jefferis, age 68 of Long Pine, NE. Bub Jefferis passed away Monday, December 20, 2022 at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Corby Steven O’Hare, age 74, was born on December 3, 1948 at Ainsworth, NE to Kenneth W. and Ruth E. (Day) O’Hare. He died on December 24, 2022 at the CHI Health Nebraska Heart Hospital in Lincoln, NE as a result of a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm.

David Ajin was born on December 21, 2011 in O’Neill, NE. He was the youngest of his eight siblings. He was a loving, kind, selfless boy. David was always full of energy and always willing to help out. He is so loved by everyone he knew and he touched so many hearts. He enjoyed origami, hanging out with his siblings, skateboarding, watching anime and he loved science. He will be missed by so many.
