Terry Lee Woods and Kendra Kay (Dougherty) Woods

Terry and Kendra (Dougherty) Woods of Prescott Valley, AZ (formerly of Ainsworth, NE and Winner, SD) passed away in the spring of 2021. A joint funeral service was held Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the Congregational Church in Ainsworth. Inurnment was in the Ainsworth south cemetery.

Thomas E. Collin

Thomas Eugene Collin was born July 13, 1940 at Aitkin, MN to Arthur Eugene and Vera Illeen (Mulvihill) Collin. He passed away Friday, May 13, 2022 at the Rock County Hospital in Bassett, NE at the age of 81 years and ten months. Tom grew up in Cloquet, MN. He graduated from Garfield Elementary School there. The family moved to Dunedin, FL, where he graduated from Junior High School. He completed the 8th grade at Clearwater (FL) High School and then transferred to Sacramento, CA graduating from C. K. McClatchy High School in June of 1958.

Thomas E. Collin, 81

Funeral service for Thomas E. Collin, age 81 of Long Pine, NE, will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hoch Funeral Home in Ainsworth. Burial will follow in the Grandview Cemetery at Long Pine with Military Honors by Ainsworth American Legion Post #79.

Bernice (Nunnenkamp) Trautman, 95

Bernice (Nunnenkamp) Trautman was born September 18, 1926, on the family farm south of Aurora, NE. Her mother and father, Elizabeth and William Nunnenkamp along with her six brothers welcomed her into the family. Bernice began her domestic career ironing shirt collars standing on a chair at the ironing board at the age of five. From that time on she was her mother’s “right hand helper” which eventually included helping with the care of an additional brother, twin sisters, and the youngest and final sister. Bernice’s hard work ethic continued through the years. She found much joy in all the work that came to her whether hard or easy.

Terry and Kendra (Dougherty) Woods of Prescott Valley, AZ (formerly of Ainsworth, NE and Winner, SD) passed away in the spring of 2021. A joint memorial will be held on May 17th at the Ainsworth Congregational Church at 11:00 a.m.

Ruby Doll (Jackson Larsen) Garrett

A funeral service was held in Lincoln, NE, December 2021 for Ruby Doll (Jackson Larsen) Garrett, former Ainsworth and Springview resident. Ruby’s burial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 4th, 2022, at the Ainsworth Cemetery south of town. Please feel free to bring a lawn chair. A time of fellowship with family and friends will be held at the Ainsworth Methodist Church immediately following the service.

Doris A. “Dorie” Hughes, 99

Funeral service for Doris A. Hughes, age 99 of Ainsworth, NE, will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoch Funeral Home in Ainsworth. Burial will follow in the Ainsworth Cemetery. Dorie Hughes died Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at the Rock County Hospital Long Term Care in Bassett.

Delores K. Stec, 100

Delores K. (Abraham) Stec passed away in Grand Island, NE at the CHI Health-St. Francis Hospital on April 24, 2022, with her family by her side. Delores, formally of Ainsworth, NE, was the daughter of Dell and Genevieve (Saba) Abraham, born February 19, 1922.

George Kamas, 95

Longtime Ainsworth, NE resident George Kamas died at the Sandhills Care Center in Ainsworth on April 15, 2022 at the age of 95 years. Those familiar with his 64 years in Ainsworth knew him as a businessman devoted to his family, a golfer who enjoyed the camaraderie as much as the game and a quick wit with a clever quip and a louder laugh. But many people did not know that he had a young life in agriculture, military service, and the experience as the first generation of immigrants that defined so many of his “Greatest Generation.”
