FAFSA Opens for 2027-28

The 2027-28 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now open at studentaid.gov, and Nebraska high school students who file the application can apply to win one of 75 $1,000 Do The FAFSA Nebraska Scholarships from Education-Quest Foundation.

Alpha Delta Kicks Off a Blooming Year

Alpha Delta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma met September 19 at the Coffee Vault in Long Pine to enjoy breakfast and their first meeting of the year. Four members answered roll call and made a donation to Read Aloud Nebraska/CASA project.

Senior Willa Flynn sets the ball for a teammate to attempt a kill. Flynn had 20 assists against the Longhorns. The Lady Dawgs and attendees participated in an Orange-Out to show support for Jared Hansmeyer's battle against cancer.

AHS Volleyball Team Wins Final Regular Season Home Match

The Lady Dawgs took down the Hyannis Longhorns in four sets (25-16, 23-25, 25-13, 2512) during the team’s last regular- season home game on Thursday, October 1. For the Dawgs, senior Gracyn Painter had 16 kills, followed by sophomore Ava Graff with five and senior Jaylee Good with three.

Bulldogs Fall to Creighton 64-7

The Ainsworth football team traveled to Creighton on Friday, October 2, to take on the Bulldogs. Creighton put up 50 points in the first three quarters while holding Ainsworth scoreless until the team scored a touchdown in the final quarter, but not before Creighton scored 14 more points, to leave the scoreboard reading 64-7.

Mark Gracey and Huston Hutton each connected on 45 of 50 shots to share the top spot Wednesday during the fourth week of the Sandhills Fall Trap League. Blaine Frizzell and Braxton Lemunyan hit 44 of 50 targets, followed by Jayson Vaisvilas, Cassidy Zwiebel, Tyler Buoy and Braxton Jefferies with 43 successful shots.

The AHS football team captured its second win of the season against the Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars Thursday. Leading the Bulldogs in passing yards was junior Bear Rea.
