Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits for more than 71 million Americans will increase 3.2 percent in 2024, the Social Security Administration announced today. On average, Social Security retirement benefits will increase by more than $50 per month starting in January.

Ainsworth High School hosted the 2023 Class D-3 District Cross Country Meet on October 11th at the Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course. The District Meet was scheduled for October 12th, but due to expected rain and wind, the meet was moved up one day to October 11th.

Broken Bow Triangular Ainsworth Lady Bulldogs travelled to the Broken Bow Triangular on Tuesday, October 10th where they played against Mc-Cook and Broken Bow. McCook Against McCook, the Dawgs took the match to three sets, loosing in the third set, 23-25, 25-17 and 19-25.

The Ainsworth Cross Country Team competed in the Southwest Conference (SWC) Cross Country Meet on October 5th at the Crandall Creek Country Club in Ogallala, NE. The Ainsworth Girls took first place with 28 team points.

The Ainsworth FFA Chapter held its annual Fall Festival on October 8th in the Ag Shop. FFA members created games such as putt-putt golf, witch hat ring toss, bowling, corn hole, pumpkin beanbag toss, pin the spider on the web and haunted tic-tac-toe.

Last week, the Lady Bulldogs travelled to Stuart’s Triangular on Tuesday, October 3rd, bringing home one win and one loss. The loss was against the Stuart Broncos, loosing in two sets, 21-25 and 21-25. The second match up of the night was taking on the North Central Knights, winning in three sets, 25-23, 23-25 and 25-16. This is the third time the Bulldogs defeated the Knights this season.

The Ainsworth Bulldog Football Team remains undefeated with just one game left in the regular season. The Dawgs picked up their seventh win of the season defeating St.

Ainsworth will play host to the District D-3 Cross Country Meet on Wednesday, October 11th. The meet will start at 2:00 p.m. at the Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course with girls competition and the boys will run at 2:45 p.m.

Ainsworth’s volleyball team travelled to O’Neill on Thursday, September 28th to take on the Lady Eagles. Four of the five sets ended with the scores between 2-4 points.
